Local micro brewpub, The Public Option is hosting a special Vinyl Night event this Sunday April 9, starting at 7:30 pm. If you have some vinyl records, bring them by! The theme for this Vinyl Night is Side One, Track One, bring your favorite album openers.
Northern Nut Brown (6.3%) - Amber colored with a sweet aroma. A balanced malt bill with background notes of nuts and brown sugar.
Cream Ale (5.8%) - Pale and lightly hopped. In the cream ale tradition, this "adjunct beer" includes an addition of flaked maize. Smooth and drinkable.
Breakfast Porter (6.0%) - A moderately hopped traditional English porter.
IPA #8 (5.9%) - The malt bill includes a nod to this style's origins with judicious additions of Marris Otter and a medium dark British crystal. But the hops are a salute to our friends in the Pacific northwest: Chinook, Cascade, Amarillo and Citra. Hoppy, but not bitter.
Sam's Stout (5.3%) - Black barley and roasted barley with lots of flaked oats. Some lactose provides a smooth, malty experience. lightly hopped.
The Winter Special (7.1%) - Darker in color but not too malty, this seasonal brew eschews spice additions in favor of a rich malt back bone consisting of Marris Otter, Pilsen and Munich. The hops are Simco, Amarillo and Citra.
Darker Shade of Pale (5.3%) - Dark Munich and honey malts balanced by nugget hops deliver a bite without too much bitterness.
Californa Ale (5.0%) - This light and drinkable beer is based on a California Common recipe but is fermented with ale yeast. We will be tapping it's sibling (a lager fermented CA Common) soon for comparison.
